We operate, design, and build film and television studios.

Across our sites, we offer the flexibility to create a larger footprint while still receiving the same consistent level of service.

About

Innovation

We have a passion for design and embrace innovation and new technology to continuously improve our studio environments including a vast VP stage.

Stages

The sustainability of our stages is a key driver, and we’ve developed new technologies and innovative ways to build greener studios and sustain their upkeep with renewable energy consumption and contractors who are Albert accredited.

Our stages are a more sustainable alternative as they have 44% less embodied carbon than concrete equivalents. They are robust, high quality, can be built in four months, and the construction and materials are reusable or recycled.

Our soundproofing is made from recycled materials, and we apply a biodiverse offsetting mindset to our new studio sites, building as many green spaces as possible, creating habitats for wildlife and improving the studio environment for everyone who works with us.

Sustainability

Stage Fifty strives for excellence in all areas, including sustainability and is in the process of submitting our application to be an Albert-accredited sustainable studio.

Stage Fifty is committed to practising sustainability in all aspects of our operations. We’re dedicated to making a positive impact on our industry and the global community through sustainable practices.

Our operations team are experienced in working with productions to support their Albert accreditation credentials. We can assist in various aspects of shoots, from accessing power consumption to supporting sustainable waste removal. We always offer information and advice to help productions’ carbon calculations and certification.

By integrating sustainable practices and embracing the Studio Sustainability Standard, our mission is to positively impact the environment, nurture well-being, champion responsible business conduct within the film and TV sector, and continuously elevate our sustainability targets year after year.

We’re supporting our shared environment, serving our industry by reducing carbon emissions and waste and committing to the Albert studio sustainability program by delivering the following initiatives across our new builds and existing sites.

Initiatives across our sites include:

  • Sourcing 100% of our electricity from renewable sources

  • A rich community programme which offers productions insight into local sustainable suppliers and organisations that reuse props and costumes to support the wider community

  • LED lighting in our stages and workshops and motion sensor controls in office spaces to curtail energy usage for productions on-site

  • Timed heating and cooling systems with security-supported power shutdown logs

  • Partnering with Albert-accredited organisations for power, consumables and production stage suppliers. Supporting productions with further information on local suppliers and greener alternatives

  • Encouraging sustainable transportation options for staff and visitors, including direct train links, electric vehicle charging points and on-site bike rentals

  • Transparent and responsible waste management systems, supporting policies and initiatives

  • Access to expansive bio-diverse green spaces next to or near all our studios

  • Accessible facilities and adaptable spaces that cater to the diverse needs of our clients

  • Guidance from sustainability experts to drive meaningful carbon reduction efforts for our sites and productions on-site

  • Ongoing sustainability training and promotion for staff and productions to contribute effectively to our green initiatives

  • Pioneering diverse, sustainable practices, including eliminating single-use plastics, promoting recycling, car sharing, and collaborating with suppliers to enhance sustainability practices

We view sustainability as an ongoing journey and are proud to tread this path, continually evolving to significantly impact our industry and the world. The commitment of productions who use our studios is pivotal in advancing our shared sustainability ambitions. Together, we can pave the way for a more sustainable and thriving future.

Diversity and inclusion

We believe that each person brings their unique strengths to Stage Fifty and that every member of our team shares the responsibility for helping to ensure an inclusive, personable and welcoming culture across our studio environments and businesses.

Our approach attracts, develops and advances the most talented individuals regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, nationality, geographic origin, religion, culture or any other dimension of diversity.

Our diverse and inclusive creative and corporate culture is central to delivering superior services to clients and maintaining sustainable growth for our company in the industry.

TV Access Project (TAP)

The TV Access Project (TAP) is an alliance of the UK’s biggest broadcasters and streamers who have pledged to work together to create a substantive and permanent structural shift which will ensure access provision for deaf, disabled and neurodivergent talent.

Stage Fifty supports TAP’s vision to see full inclusion in the television industry by 2030, where no disabled talent is ever excluded because barriers have been removed and equity created.

We’re proud to be TAP Activators and are committed to making our studios as accessible as possible.
